#1 We just got her on sunday and she is almost 12 weeks old. The problem is all she does is whine. We give her a lot of attention but still nothing stops her crying. We have another puppy that is about 8 months and he was never like this. He's spoiled and she will be the same. I mean they're pretty much inside dogs they sleep in the bed with us but for 2 nights now I have got no sleep cuz she just yelps and whines all night. Then we we go to work we put her in the laundry room and it sounds like we are beating her. You can her her from across the street.

#2 Champ, the 8 month old, won't stop trying to mount her. We don't want to get him fixed cuz eventually we would like to breed them but I don't know what to do to make him stop. I was told to just let him try and he'll figure out on his own that it won't work cuz shes too little but I don't know how long thats going to take.
Any advice on bringing a new puppy into a home with an already spoiled puppy.

She doesn't get attention every time she whines. We put her in the laundry room this morning when my boy friend left to work and she cried all the way up until I went to work and hour and a half later. So its not the attention thing.

Why don't you try to crate train the both of them? It would help with the older one not mounting you younger and it might help make the younger one feel less confused. What you need to do to crate train is play games with the dogs. Like the cookie game where you hold a treat in your hand and get to dog a little excited about it by saying "you want to play the cookie game?" in a very excited voice. then throw the treats in the crate and walk away. Another thing is to always feed them in their crates. Now as far as the whining, you just brought the puppy and she needs to get use to her new home. She isn't sure of what's going on. So continue to reassure her. If you decide to crate train her then put her in the crate while you are home and let her whine when she stops whining then count to 3 and get up and give her a treat and let her out. This may take a couple days. Also keep the door open to the crate, so the dogs can get use to them. I would reccomend putting them in there and leaving the house at first because they can become distressed. Start by leaving for a couple minutes and work you way up. good luck with you new puppy.

Yes, a dog will learn that whining works if it gets attention for it. However, if you are not giving attention when she whines, that's not the issue. If she has been with mom and litter mates until you got her, she is probably shell-shocked and anxious. Give her a treat-stuffed Kong or other wonderful toy to keep her mind off of it and help her settle in.

Put her in the laundry room (or better yet, get a crate) occasionally when you are home. Again, give her a fun activity when she is confined. You can also feed all of her meals in her confinement area for a few days to help her have positive associations with the space.

Champ's mounting is likely about hierarchy rather than sex. If you don't want to neuter him, you must be prepared to deal with the consequences.

Your puppy is whining because you keep giving her attention when she does it. If you ignore the behavior she will know that it doesn't work. Our puppy did the same thing when we crate trained her and in awhile, she will stop. I don't know what to tell you about the mounting, watch Dog Whisperer and follow some of Cesar Milans techniques.

#1 if you give her attention everytime she whines, she's just going to keep whining, because she knows she'll get her way. Ignore her every once in a while. You do not need to be fondling over her every second of the day.

#2 If you don't know about this stuff, then you shouldn't breed them. Spay and neuter your dogs.

It is possible that your 8 month old is just asserting his dominance. As for the whining that's what my German shepherd did and you need to ignore her. She should be old enough to sleep through the night.
