It was bodily. Those who claim otherwise, either are not knowledgeable of the Scriptures, or they are heretics.
As it is written: "While they were talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." They were startled and terrified, thinking they were seeing a ghost. He said to them, "Why are you frightened, and why are doubts arising in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, for it is I myself. Touch me and see, for a ghost doesn't have flesh and bones as you see that I have." After he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. While they still could not believe it for joy and were full of amazement, he said to them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence." (Luke 24:36-43)

Oh but he was in spiritual form. Jesus was put to death in the flesh and resurrected as a spirit. The fact that he ate food doesn't actually prove that he was a physical being, it just shows that he had materialized. The angels that visited Abraham had materialized temporarily and were therefore able to eat the food that he had prepared for them. The same was the case for Jesus; he was a spirit that took on a temporary physical form in order to convince his disciples that they were not hallucinating when they saw him. He ascended to heaven as a spirit being.
