ok, now i have found an artist that i want to do my tattoo. the only problem.. is his lackey/assistant. whatever you call him. this guy does really good work, fair price. i dropped off some pictures 3 weeks ago, to get it drawn up. i called about a week ago & went to look at the "almost finished drawing" i get there & its not even close to finished, when i point out the things missing in the picture hes like totally lost. (i wrote everything down and even gave him a sketch) even though i went in twice to explain just what i wanted. the problem is... the guy doing the tattoo's is the only 1 who works in the shop actually doing the tattoos. my problem, theres not too many places to choose from around where i live. sticks... the few places near us i would NEVER go to. so do i demand my deposit back, or just wait until the lackey here finally gets done drawing it up whenever he feels like it. how long was the longest you waited for something to get sketched up?what would you do in my shoes

that's a hard thing to decide. the most important thing is the quality of the tattoo. i love my tattoo artist and he is so very talented but even when he did live here it was really hard to get an appointment with him. not because he was so busy but because he was very slow to get back to people. i am very persistent and always got tattooed when i needed it but my husband had a much harder time. it took three months to actually get his first appointment and it took about seven months to finish a 6 hour tattoo. it looks great but it was frustrating to my husband.
i have never had to wait for a tattoo sketch. i always just go up there on the day of my tattoo and know that it will be ready.

unless you are willing to travel to get a quality tattoo you may have to deal with the slow nature of the person doing the tattoo. just smile and be nice and hope that he'll hurry up with it.

when i wanted my tattoo done they drew it up right away i went to tattoo tech. I would definetly ask for my diposit back he really doesnt sound like he know what hes doing. all they have to do is trace the picture on carbon ink and on a peice of tracing paper it shouldnt take long at all depending on the detail and all that but i definetly would get my deposit back. look for refrences and ask around about tattoo parlors before you get it done or it could end up becoming a horror story meaning you being stuck with a messed up tattoo and having to get a larger on to cover up the old one. Good luck!!!

well i ususally got mine drawn up right before i got it done. if he's taking that long then he might be too cocky to tell you he cant draw it up take a man with you and let him know you want your money or your tattoo the way you sketched it . sometimes the presence of a man can make person do something they never intended to do! good luck. oh jus in case he might screw it up get somewhere you can cover up

I think you need to talk to the "artist". The guy that'll be permanently piercing ink into your epidermis. If the artist says that you have to continue with his "Lackey Guy", I would ask for your depoist back. I wouldn't trust the Tatoo artist if he couldn't do his own drawings.

Tell him you wanted to have the tattoo sooner, and since he couldn't do that, you'd like your money back. Go someplace else even if you have to travel a little.

I would give him a time limit. Tell him you want to come in a certain day to have it done, and if the picture isn't done or up to quality you want your deposit back.
