Always put some kind of protection on your hair before heat styling it. Try getting a leave-in product that helps flatten your hair and will protect your hair from heat styling.
Pull your hair into a pony tail, or use a clip, to pull most of your hair on top of your head, leaving some hair down to style.Take small sections of hair, no more than 2 inches wide and 1/4 inch thick, comb or brush them and slowly (but not too slowly) drag the flatiron down the section. When you're finished with the hair that's out of the clip, take out your hair and let down a little more hair, flat iron it, let down a little hair, flat iron it, etc.. until you're finished. When you're completely finished, put on something to control flyaways like Frizz Ease.

look you still have to put heat protectant its the only way to protect your hair from getting more damage. And to make it look really straight you should seperate your hair into sections. Only get little sections of hair and straighten it cuz too much won't work as well and might get your hair frizzy. Also you can try getting Herbal Essance Dangerously Straight that will helop get your hair more straight.

Spray on a heat protector all over your dry hair. Then take small sections of your hair and starting at the top, gradually bring the straightner down the strands. Dont keep it in one place for too long though

eh conair is going to be much harder to work with than what i got used to using. i have a chi and it took me months to figure out exactly how to use it or even enjoy using it. when you do straighten your hair, sit in the sink. for some reason sitting down while straightening hair just makes it go faster.

do it in sections, pin it up and start with the under layer, then let some down and do it, then do the top layer and biosilk is a great solution to put on your hair before you iron it or hair starch is good to, it will make it super straight

to make sure you hair is super straight make sure it is dry all the way, (i would try to blow dry it straight it works better that way) . then turn the iron up all the way, and separate hair into 1/2 inch sections and straight from the top of the head to the bottom to prevent bumps. i would also check out http://www.herbalessences.com/us/get_the_look/videos.jsp?style=straight
