maybe they are tired of people shoving religion down their throats... Most christians throw bibles at all other non believers.. and it gets annoying... If you shove bibles at me, I will throw them in your face... point ended...
im agnostic... not athiest.. theres a difference...
Im just tired of religion... I cant prove anything whether god does or doesnt exist... My faith isnt as strong as I wished it could be... god has done nothing for me (good) that is...
If someday someone proves god exists.... I will bow down and take any punishment I deserve... until then, I choose the most comfortable position to me...

i don't try to do that. i will offer up my p.o.v. when asked or when an assumption about it is pointedly wrong.
but some may be doing it because they feel pressured by the christians who are doing the same thing to them. a person will get defensive when their beliefs are touted as utterly wrong, and they will defend them. when christians say that they have "The Truth" and yet their beleifs are nearly perpendicular to the person they're trying to convince it feels a bit condescending. not to mention that there are a lot of self-proclaimed 'christians' who are quite vile and judgemental, which tends to rile people up. i think some innocent people are getting caught in the cross fire.

It is because Christians are really irritating with their constant trying to convert us and then telling us that if we do not believe in your fairy tale God that we are all going to Hell. Well, your God can shove everything up his _ _ _, well you get the idea. And if he really wants to save his creations, then please Christ take your followers away, they are driving the rest of us sane people nuts. You have no idea what it is like having to listen to someone quoting that children's book (Bible) as absolute truth, and when there is a contradiction pointed out, you change the topic or just say that God miracled it, so anything totally impossible could be possible.
You do not know what it is like to always have Christians try to shove their morals and beliefs down your throat and try to get government to change to be more Christian friendly. Well, if that is the case and the church wants to start to lobby the government, then pay taxes out of that con scam that Christianity is running. It actually is embarrassing to hear grown adults believing the crap in the Bible, they are stories that are so larger than life that nobody sane could honestly believe in them.
Our sense of responsibility to prove that there is no God is so that we can live a peaceful life without you people. Get out of my schools, my government and stop trying to get into my bedroom and life. Live your own life and respect other peoples right to their lives. Keep your religion in your church and your morals to yourselves. I do not want to hear about them, see them or have them forced upon me, like you people have tried all my life so far. It is nice to see people pushing back against religion and standing up for themselves. Wow, I could go on and on about the evils of religion, but I hope that you can catch my meaning.

The question is...are Atheists coming up and initiating conversation asking you to change your ways, the way that so many Christians are, or are they stating their opinions on the matter when it comes up? Why is it ok for Christians to spend their time recruiting new members, but not ok for anyone else to express their difference in opinions? It seems a bit hypocritical.

I never try to convince anyone of that. Why should I? Believe what you want to...I don't care. And since one cannot prove a negative, the question is moot.

We're not. We don't give a rats behind if anyone shares our views. We only argue (and well I might add) when prodded incessantly by religious types. Most of us mind our own business - we just don't want religion legislated or forced on us. So pray away to whatever god you deem worthy. We don't care.

Because they believe that there is not. No proof to that assertion, but they hold that belief anyway and if one holds a belief to be true, one tries to convince others of that truthfulness. Just human nature.

I can't prove there isn't a god, and I can't prove there isn't specifically a Yahweh. No one can prove a negative. I can't disprove the god you believe in and you can't disprove the Flying Spaghetti Monster. It can't be done. I don't even try.

That is such a good question. More than likely you will get alot of neg. answers, but they try to make us not believe so that they can justify why they dont believe to themselves. Most athiest dont really care. It is the few that spoil it. Just like some christians you know? That is all my opinion though.

Maybe they think that once you realize there is no god, you will have more time to spend learning the meanings of words and how to spell them.
