Just wear some loose comfortable clothes that are easy to move around it. I would suggest a t-shirt and some sweatpants or gym shorts.
As for what you will do the first day, you will probably be introduced to the instructor(s) and the rules of the dojang (gym) if you haven't already.
Other than that, you will most likely start with a warm up and some stretching. Then, they will probably teach you a few basic hand techniques such as how to punch and do a high and low block. After that, you will most likely learn a few of the main basic kicks. They will most likely teach you how to do a front kick, a side kick, and a roundhouse kick.
Of course, this will also vary by the school and who is teaching the class.

Wear loose clothing, then when you've decided you really want to train, buy a gi(taekwondo uniform) a white belt should come with the gi.
What you will do on the first is really basic stuff like front kicks, side kick, turning kick.. and they might go into teaching you the white belt pattern.. when it comes to yellow belt your pattern is then called "Taegeuk" 1. yeah..
Have fun at training!!!

yea, wear a gi. if you're out of shape, you should expect to sweat alot on your first class. if you're in shape, this is what happened in my tkd class. you do a very light jog for 5 seconds, you stretch your hamstrings until they hurt, and then you practice your basic kicks (lol probably incorrectly.)
the thing about tkd is that it is only good if you want to show off your aerial kicks. i mean you can get in shape, sure. but there are also negative affects, such as knee pains.
if you actually want to fight, tkd isn't the best martial art to choose. the tow main reasons are that the fight theories aren't on par with those of kickboxing or kyokushin. another reason is that alot of the instructors aren't the best fighters in the world.
