ahh, bless, shes got dandruff- no I mean really- animals get dandruff too.
It can be caused by many things, the biggest one is strss- animals get stressed easily, she could get stressed by a change in weather or if there was a new person around...
It could also be a skin problem- if it gets worse or she is itching alot, go see your vet for some medication, or its likely to get worse.
It could be a nutritional deficiency- try cod live oil for dogs.
If you are sure its not a skin disorder and there are no other accompaning symptoms, try to test one thing at a time with her food- or adding in vitamins for animals skin (cod liver oil, vitamin e, vitamin e, vitamin a) but always see a vet for guidance on what viatmin type and dose to give a dog.
If you think it is stress, try to spend a little more time with her, and if she has recently been introduced to someone new- try to introduce them again until it becomes normal for her.
RE: getting rid of it, a dog bath shoild be ok- but not too rough as if she worries- its an own goal as far as your concerned!!
Stress is the most likely cause, and you just need to take things slowly and be patient, it will go.

Dry and/or irritated skin will cause flakiness. Some dogs it only happens in the winter when the air is more dry. Some dogs just have sensitive skin. I use an oatmeal shampoo which helps calm my dogs' skin.

Take her to the vets and get the skin looked at first, she may have a slight skin irritation.
They can give her special shampoo that will help her skin and coat. Generally, its just dandruff, but best to know before you buy anything that may make her skin worse.

It is prob just dandruff, have a good look through her fur if you cant see any crawly things then it just dandruff, a very easy way of getting rid of this instead of paying a fortune at the vets is to mix a garlic capsule into their food it does wonders i promise and gives them such a glossy coat - it also keeps the fleas away

I had a dog who had this problem, and the vet said that it was an allergy to corn, which can be in a number of dog food brands. I guess this a common problem, but one that is seldom addressed. Just thought I'd pass it along, because I hadn't seen this yet in the posts. If this does happen to be the problem, just look for a new food w/o corn added and it will clear up no problem.

Dogs get flaky dry skin from numerous causes, such as indoor heat and cold weather. However, switching your pet to a lamb and rice formula food(Nutra, Science Diet, etc.) and adding a few drops of fatty acid will hep.
You can get it at any pet store.

It sounds like dry skin, especially if she is in the house with central heating, try a spoon full of cod liver oil in her food, a raw egg is good for her coat, if you bath her alot try a medicated shampoo.

She probably just has a case of dry skin, which can be helped with a tea tree shampoo or other mild stuff. But you need to check with your vet first in case it is a problem, like fungal or mites.

A wise old vet told me years ago that the best treatment for this is a 'knob of margarine' on her dinner. However, if she doesn't respond to this in a week or so I would take her for a check up.
