This would have been a regular traffic stop, no speeding or reason to belive any crime was being commited.

I love the attack at the bottom by BarB. I'll have you know lady that this is just something that I got from watching the show cops. I thought it be a good subject for discussion. No personal attacks needed.

Evading, resisting arrest come to mind. Could be either a misdeameanor or a felony depending on circumstances.

What comes to mind first is felony stupid in public.

It varies from state to state. Most states have enacted laws to make fleeing from police a felony. In TN, it is a felony.
This applies only to fleeing in a vehicle.
In most states, fleeing on foot is a misdemeanor.
There is an old saying that says " If you run from the police, don't get caught in the dark".
However, that is just an old saying. I am sure that it no longer applies today.

Right! So you didn't know a police car was after you...that's what all the deadbeats say.

Don't worry, he's got your license plate and your identity; they will get you sooner or later.

And, yes, it is a crime to flee from the police. What they charge you with will depend upon how long it takes to bring you in and how you behave when they do.
