I got a Cockatiel two days ago and he is not eating. I took him to the vet Monday and he is healthy. What is going on?

The ppl that mentioned that you should make sure to have the same food that the breeder/store was feeding him are correct. It's very possible that he is eating during the night when it is dark. If you are using seed then you can easily tell if he is eating by taking the dish and blowing in it. the seed hulls will fly out, the other seeds will stay in the dish. Most cockatiels when you first bring them home go through a period where they do not eat...very often. Don't worry he will not starve to death. At about 72 hours starvation mode kicks in and he will eat. now, I say he won't starve himself. But, some cockatiels will starve themselves rather than eat unfamilliar food. When you cover his cage tonight listen for him moving about. But, I'm sure by tomorrow he'll be eating if he hasn't already. If by tomorrow he still isn't eating, I would take him to the vet.

This is common for pet birds not to eat for a day or two after being brought into a new environment.

Give him some space and time to become acclimated to his new surroundings.

Give him seeds instead of pellets. Better that he eat seeds than starve because he doesn't know pellets are food.

How old is the bird. Often young birds expect to find food on the ground instead of in seed cups.

Make sure you are feeding him the same food that the people you bought him from were. The good news is that he is eating something, because a bird can die within a single day if it doesn't eat at all.

Like any other animal, he's most likely just nervous, trying to acclimate himself to a new environment. My advice is to take the food out of the cage, and every day, put some food in your hand, and hand feed him. He will get hungry enough and eat from your hand eventually - if you try in the morning, and he doesn't eat, try again in the afternoon, then in the evening, until he eats SOME. This will not only ensure he eats, but it will also allow you to form a relationship with you, making you the alpha, because it is YOU who feeds him and it is YOU he depends on. He should be fine in a few days. He's got to get used to not being in his accustomed environment.

Still shy, bought wrong food. To noisy environment. To much daylight. Play soothing music and eat in front of him/her.

He's probably just getting used to it's new enviroment !!! Give it a few weeks and it might start felling happy enough to eat !!!!
