Okay, for you simple minded people, here's an experiment:
1) Get a nail and a hammer. Put the sharp end of the nail against the palm of your hand, lay the back side of your hand against something solid, and strike the nail with the hammer.
Test your reaction.
Did it hurt?
Congradulations, you've discovered that you have a physical body.
2) If you performed this experiment, you have no brain. If you've read this far and have not yet retreived the aforementioned tools, you're either smart or lucky.
3) For your homework, come up with an experiment similar to this one that demonstrates the existence of a soul.
(Hint: if this poses some difficulty for you, it MIGHT mean that the soul is fictitious and doesn't exist.)
Okay, for those of you who aren't yet convinced:
(Hint #2: if your only proof of the existence of a soul is something someone else told you, you're a sucker. Say three Hail Mary's and report to the appropriate 12-step program for idiots.)

spirit mind and body.
How do I know?
1 Th 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Born here dead, spiritually that is.
So mind and body are the way we are until The spirit is given life by the life giver.
Who might that be?
Eph 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
I think it says God Himself.

The mind is part of the body and does not need to be referenced. We are our body.

Eric, are 'you' your brain? Eric, is your hand or leg what makes you Eric? If the answer is no to any of these, then I'd have to say no, we are not something that just has mind and body; we are energy, soul, spiritual creatures.

that (something) as you put it is souls..we here on earth are covered in earth suits so to speak so we can survive here on earth...but our real us is underneath all this crummy flesh
