Ceramic flat irons are powerful tools for making hair perfectly straight and smooth. Ceramic tends to be much better than other flat iron surfaces, such as gold-plated metal or chrome. Ceramic is the preferred material for flat irons because its surface does not tug, catch, or pull on hair. Therefore, there is less breakage and hair damage than with other types of flat iron surfaces.

Ceramic flat irons are also desirable because their surface area can become uniformly hot. Other metal flat irons may have some surfaces that heat up faster than others. The even, high heat that is provided by ceramic flat irons allows for hair that is sleek and stick-straight in appearance. Even permed or naturally curly hair can be made completely straight with the right ceramic flat iron.

Ceramic holds heat better and doesn't damage the hair as much.

I have a ceramic hair straightener and it works perfectly and I have very curly hair. :P

Also don't bother buying a straightener under 200 they're crap and not worth the money, your best bet is to purchase one from a salon. It's worth it believe me!

neither, both damage your hair in the long run!(i should know i'm a hairdresser)!! but if you absolutly need 1 then ceramic is better.
