Usually if you are a member it is free or cheaper than if you rent. But I know one bride that thought her church was free & was invoiced for $1500.00

If you are renting a church you need to contact the pastor or church office. Don't be upset if you are turned down. This request goes before a church board; it isn't the pastor's decision alone. Some churches rent, others don't want the hassle.
Usually you will have to use that pastor to marry you and may or may not have much input into the ceremony. You must abide by those church's rules like music, acceptable wedding dress, & even more so if you plan to use their rec hall for your reception. The cost of the church varies from church to church & may or may not include the minister's fee. Ask.

Renting the facility can be one of the charges as you will incur costs for the clergy member facilitating the event, sound if you have it, music, flowers, candles, etc.

If you are a member of the church, chances are there will be a minimal fee. If you are not a member, you will likely have to pay a rental fee with a minimum number of hours.

Many churches also offer a wedding package that includes everything. Cost will be based on your location as well. In San Francisco, NYC or Los Angeles, you will likely pay much more than you would anywhere else.

Most churches ask for donations if you are a member. However, non-members are required to pay a fee equal to the donation or a higher amount.

I am not a member of the church I am getting married at but they are giving me the rate they are giving normal members of the church. Them doing my nonmember wedding is actually a first for their church. It will cost me 600 dollars and that includes the reverend, set up fees, a wedding planner for that days event.

Every church is different, mine is $1,400 but they include a lot of stuff- the flowers, the organ player etc....

It also depend where you live, I am in NJ so most places ask for a mandatory $500 donation..... And a friend of mine belongs to her church and they charge $25. Just call and ask.

It varies. My church was $100. We didn't use the priest that belongs to that parish so we gave the priest $100 as well.
