You contradict yourself saying it doesn't offend you to see Xian, and then posting that last line in the hopes of offending someone else.
Xian is not ment to be offensive. It is just shorthand like Xmas.

How sad for you that you take offense to it...and apparently want to give offense to people who don't believe as you do.
"X" is shorthand for "Christ"
That's why it shows up in Xmas and Xian.
And yes, Xian is also a city in China.
