When Jesus was crucified He made a way of direct communication with God. The veil was rent from the top to the bottom that we could have direct access through Prayer.

Hebrews 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

That was the entire reason for the reformation. Martin Luther came to the conclusion that people did not need a priest to speak to their god. He also didn't feel that they needed a priest to be forgiven, have church, etc. That is why their are different deonominations now.

Now, people are learning that their is no need for a god. But, it will take more time for all to realize this.

This is a Catholic idea, and wrong. We can all have a personal relationship with God thruogh his son, Jesus. The idea of priests is a holdover from Judism.

I ask the same thing about Jesus. I don't mean that offensively, I just honestly feel that way, even though I think he is a good role model.
