It is a very popular gesture to treat someone with a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant. If you can't find that out in time, always play it safe and find the most popular American restaurant and give him a card/certificate from there. If the meals go over $20, he will still love you for the thoughful gift.
If you need to stay under $20, you might find out about his movies or music. You can find great selections of movies and cd's at Wal-Mart for under 20. This is always a fun gift to open and will last for ages!

well you could get a very nice book and a bookmarker, or a cd, or a giftcard to a foodstore, or you could buy the person lunch.

hmmm....get a giftcard for about that much...or just get a card and give him some money...u can never go wrong with that! uhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....maybe a new wallet? or i know it may sound stupid...but maybe just some flowers with a card...some guys like flowers. =]

u could always make them something or u could buy them a mug with a picture on it. a t-shirt a hug or kiss X0x..... LOL
