" Vertigo is a type of dizziness that's characterized by the sensation of spinning. It's sometimes referred to as a hallucination of motion. Imagine what it would feel like to be placed suddenly on a roller coaster that won't stop, and you begin to understand the alarming symptom of vertigo."
It may make someone feel anxious, since fear and a sense of disorientation are involved, it's best to reassure your fiance the feeling will go away, my guess is any "meanness" would be a result of that fear. Medication may certainly help.
Edited to add:
(Not to be confused with acrophobia ...fear of heights)

Vertigo is a symptom from any number of conditions. It is being dizzy. I have vertigo almost all the time. But mine is minor compared to some.
Symptoms - dizzyness of course, but in mild cases this may not be noticeable. In more sever cases difficulty or even an inability to walk. In worst cases it will even make you throw up and feel sick constantly.
It doesn't always go away. Isn't always caused by the same things. But most commonly is inner ear stuff. Can be an infection. Also can be crystalization of inner ear fluid. (probably what mine is.) Also can be heart, allergies, blood preassure or concussion.
If your fiance is irritable it is because he is not dealing with it well, irratibility is not caused by vertigo directly. But the feelings of always being off balance do often make me grumpy too.
Best thing to do is to leave him and come date me. (* did I type that out loud *) Seriously talk with him about how he is treating you, your desire to do what's best and if necessary keep your distance.

Vertigo has nothing to do with personality! It quite often is an inner ear thing and it causes a person to feel dizzy, off kilter, like they've spun around a lot....Makes their head spin....
Meclazine or like product are made just for that and don't have side affects. If she isn't sure of what is going on and this is her opinion not a doctor's, she definitely should go to her doctor because it could be any number of things.

Vertigo is a sensation of falling or disorientation. Usually caused by looking down from great heights or a disease of the inner ear. Although I have had vertigo when I snowboard and the wind is so strong it creates a white-out on the mountain. You can't tell your what direction your moving or how fast your going. It doesn't usually make people mean, and if your fiance gets it just let them breath slowly and remove them from the situation. They should be just fine afterward

Vertigo is dizziness or being lightheaded. It feels like the room is spinning. It doesn't take too long but you should check it out. I have been having it for a couple of weeks. Dehydration can cause it, medication or high blood pressure or even an ear infection. I think mine was my pressure because I laid off the salty foods and started drinking more water and its better now.
Good luck

Vertigo means dizziness, as if the room itself is spinning. I suppose it could upset someone who has it chronically to the point of being angry/mean. The symptoms are that you get dizzy to the point of falling or the sensation of falling. The time it takes to go away varies. If your fiance has it often, I suggest he see a doctor, he may have a health issue.
On the other hand, "Vertigo" is a very good old Alfred Hitchcock movie. Check it out.
Good Luck!

It just means that you get dizzy easily, thats it. People with vertigo can get sick easily due to movement in a car or passing train or even TV. My friends dad has it really bad and he can't even go to walmart because he gets sick passing the pedestrian stripes on the parking lot outside! But most people have less severe symptoms. Unfortunately it won't go away. There is an over the counter drug called Dramamine that can help

Vertigo is a sense of things 'spiining' its almost like everything keeps flipping, it makes me very sick when i get it and i usually thrown up. It usually has something to do with your inner ear. I had an infection in my inner ear and thats what caused me to get it. It didnt make me angry just kinda made me feel like i was crazy, like everything was spinning and no one else could see it. There are pills that your fiance to help with vertigo, it might just be a simple illness he has that is causing it. Some people have it for longer or chronically. Its common, just very unpleaseant.

Vertigo is just a loss of balance. It should not make them mean, but you might want to keep him off stairs and high places. I don't know if driving would be safe either because it might effect the way he sees just ask him. Sometimes if it was a brain injury that caused It may never go away, but if it is periodic it may come and go.
