Time, money, lives, it is a waste period. There is no benefit to the world, and as a matter of fact has made the world a more dangerous place.

YES,
We have replaced a bloody dictator who was on Al Quieda's hit list with a Shiite Theocracy.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
George Bush invaded Iraq to keep Iraqi oil off the market. If it weren't for him oil would be selling for $22 a barrel instead of over $60. Exxon, Chevron and Texaco love him.

Not a complete waste of time, the war has tripled the number of terrorists in the world (CIA figures), it has destabilized the middle east. It destroyed a fairly liberal tolerant society (as far as the middle east goes) and is about to replace it with a Shia run "democracy" which will bring back strict Islamic laws. This should keep the military contractors humming along nicely for the next 50 years.

Well, let's see what has been accomplished so far.

Thousands of men women and children have lost their lives.

Many thousands more have been injured.

The social fabric of Iraq was ripped apart followed by a feeble attempt by the US to install a democratic government in a country that has never had one and doesn't want one.

Over a trillion dollars of the US citizen's hard earned money is simply gone. Some of it has ended up in the hands of the same people who attacked us on 9/11. Think about what that money could have been spent on both here and abroad. We say we need to develop alternate energy sources and instead of spending money on additional research and development, we blow a trillion dollars to protect our oil supply.

It has not been just a waste of time. It has put us all in more danger than we have ever been.

Well since you need at least 300,000 US troops to defeat the type of insurgency (many US Generals said this to Bush before the war started in Iraq) that they have in Iraq, keep a civil war from breaking out & defeat Al Qaeda all at the same time I'd say sending in 160,000 US troops is a complete waste to time, money & lives.

no, because if we had never invaded Iraq in the first place, Saddam and his terrorist would have total control over the middle east, and the people in Iraq would still be killed by there own damn president. So it's not I waste of time. And yes, I know our men and women in uniform are being killed there ( not to be rude and all but really, its a war, obviously people are going to die) ,same thing happened in WWI and WWII and we won. But when you look at Iraq in ten years, hopefully it will be a democratic country, and the people there will be thanking us.
(Just pray every night to the lord)

Just because people die doesn't mean it's a waste of time, World War 1 wasn't a waste of time, World War 2 wasn't a waste of time, and plenty of our troops died and lots of other people died as well. Was it a waste of time? NO! Did we ever think about pulling out? NO!

I understand why people don't think this war is important and they think it's a waste of time. The reason is because we are fighting an enemy with no government, we are fighting an enemy with no uniform, we are fighting an enemy that blends in with society and just kill for their beliefs. We are fighting extremists who actually kill themselves to kill one of our men. Americans just don't see it, they don't beleive we are at war, they don't beleive this war is important at all. Why?? Because we just don't know our enemy and we know nothing about them.

We are fighting one of the most vital wars in history. There is no losing on this war, if we pull out, we'll have to back because it will either get very very very BAD, or because we probably had another 9-11. If we lose, we will never have peace, we will live in fear, we will live with a world full of terrorism. We will have plenty of terrorist attacks, but America cannot live that way, which is why we are in Iraq and Afghanistan.

America needs to wake up!! I'm afraid that it's gonna take another 9-11 to wake their @sses up.

Iraq had no WMDs and the Bush Administration knew it. Saddam had no connection to al Quaida, and the Bush Administration knew it. Iraq was not trying to buy materials for nuclear bombs from any other country. Iraq had no capacity to attack the United States and had nothing to do with 9/11 and the Bush Administration knew that also. So yeah: I think attacking Iraq was wrong and further, that it was illegal. We just convicted Scooter Libby for lying about who outed Valerie Plame, and realize that he was acting on direct orders from the Vice President - who should be impeached immediately and placed in prison to await trial for violating his oath of office and the Constitution of these United States!

Most of the time I do think it is a waste of time, but then there is an actual reason why they are over there, so for short, it is a good idea.

no it was not a waste of time. we got rid of Hitlers brother. we can't afford to have a brutal man, wiping out a sector of society. but the Iraq people should take care of themselves. if they don't want help and help us to win for them freedom, as they see it.
