Can you help me with my investigation please? I need to know the minimum salary in New York and the fares for public transport, is there any discount for students or seniors citizens?

The minimum wage is 7.15, however there are many people that work "off the books" and make less than that.

The fares for public subways/buses is $2 each way. You can buy multi-ride cards that have discounts after 10 rides. There are also weekly and monthly unlimited cards that offer a discount depending on how much you use it.

For students, the discount on transit only applies to elementary and high school - it does not apply to college students.

For seniors - there is a 50% discount on transit for anyone 65 or older
