It does, and it doesn't. If you are drinking water instead of eating more food, than it is. However, drinking water adds to more weight. It's like food. Eight cups of water is the norm. However, these people that need 8 cups of water/liquid a day exercise for sometime, and walk everywhere.So, if you do this, than drink more water.
If you don't exercise, and don't walk 10 miles a day because you don't have a car, or take a train, and than walk to work, don't drink that much. You will just gain a lot of water weight.

Go ahead, reach for a glass, if you don't like plain water there are enough sweetener products to put into your water to make it taste better. Be cautious, and stay away from artificially flavored products, though, for they can make you crave sweets, and they may do more harm to you than you believe.
