You don't - You respect them and when they're ready for another dog, they'll get one.

Ohh... i am so sorry for your loss!I know EXACTLY how you feel!!
Heres is an answer-long but all the questions i answer with this give me best answer and says it works... so it might be some help!

OK-well here is an answer i have read that i think might work,
Tell your parents you are going to pretend to have a puppy. You can get up early to let your puppy go potty, and take it on a "Walk".Walk in the rout you would take a puppy if you had one!Put food and water out for the puppy, and with extra money or allowances, bye bones and toys!At night, make up a bed by your bed and say its for your pup! This will show that you can be responsible-if you do it until they break! This will also show you what you will have to do,and give you a Chance to back out!It will also start to annoy them,so the might break in easier-Side affects may very!I hope it helps-i just found it and i think i may try!E-mail me if you want :) I'm always available to help!!

Here is an answer to an identical q asked yesterday{that I PUT}-i hope it helps-and you can also search your Q in the search box-there are many of the same Q's and those answers might help!Good luck!

Well.......Parents can bedificult with things like this-i know!ive been trying to get my parents agree to a dog for a while-well should i say another dog!But i dont just go right out and say it so that might be why its not working so well! Most poeple on here are going to say "What your parents say goes" which to some extent is true-except most of these poeple are parents them self and are not begging thier parents for a puppy so they do not know how it truely feels! But dont go compleetly out and ask them-too much because then they might get annoyed! And then the Answer will be and forever stand as NO!Try doing a little research, get a journal and start looking and finding out about what kind of dog you want, then ever now and again simply and causually just say a fact or two!Sooner or later they will start to get the idea! Now if they have a ceartain reason why you cant have a dog, dont try and break them-just gently bend them! When at a store and you pass the petsection comment on how you LOVE that blue bed and that if you ever had a dog that is what you would get it!If your parent comes back with a remark as"you IF" then just drop the subject and do it again tommow! Not all parents are going tofall for this so then you have to go to phase 2!This is the least fun but hay,Start doing more chores around the house, and dont make your parents have to ask you a million times!Also-start saving our allowance or ask them if you can do some chores for money!Try dog walking! This shows them that you are responsible!keep this up for awhile-but dont go over the top the first day so they dont suspect anything yet!and if a month has passed and still nothing AT all-time to go into mega mode!this is when you start to bribe, beg, plead, and if at all possible to skip-play dirty!this isn't as hard as it seems!Bribing-Start asking for a puppy for christmas of for a birthday or start waking up in the middle of the night and going into your parents room-tell them your scared-do it for about three nights then bring up how you REALLY should get a gaurd dog!still nothing?Beg/plead!Cry that you have nothing to really take responsibility fo-that you WANT some thing!that you really miss an old dog or catand that it is proven that kids-teens do beter with a pet!!And the last possible step-play dirty-start buying a dog bed or somthing-dog food ext!And if it is still a No-then it will probly stay a NO!if within 2 months nothing at all has happend then you may as well forget about get the pup of your dreams!but it is very unlikely that it will end up at that!Gosh-just reading this makes me feel my plan just might turn out better then i thought!I know very few parents who dont fall for any of these traps!i hope this helps

My parents did not allow me to have a pet as a child. I had to wait until I moved out. Now I have 2 dogs a chi-weenie and a chihuahua. Good luck.

you have to show your parent that you are responsible enough to have a puppy of your own. when they see that you are responsible, they are more likely to let you. try helping out around the house more, or with younger siblings. that is how i got my mom to let me get my belly button pierced.=]
