A girl I worked with a few years back got married for the second time. (his second wedding as well)
It was her birthday coming up so they decided to organize a afternoon BBQ surprise birthday party. Her partner invited all of there friends pretending she nothing about it. None of there friends new that they where actually planing a surprise wedding for the guests.
When the day came everyone rocked up in casual clothes presents under there arms and when they saw Trisha (the bride) dressed up to the nines they thought................................................ Oh know!!!! she thinks she's going to a fancy restaurant for her birthday and they felt sorry for her.
Then they turned around and said to there friends "SURPRISE" "Where getting married and your all invited"
They all had the best day. Don't run away to get married have a surprise wedding instead

It's not wrong, especially if you both have been married before, but my suggestion would be to have a small wedding inviting just close family and friends say limiting your guest list to about 35 to 50 people. Keep it small. Rent a small facility or have it in someones backyard, do alot of the decorations yourself, cater it buffet style, and last but not least, have a preacher come to where you are going to have the reception and have him marry you right on site. It will be a memorable day that you will always remember. Whatever ou decide, best of luck to you both.

I don't really think it should matter...even if the two of you have never been married before. This is a memory for the two of you to share...in whatever fashion you choose to do so. If you have friends and family that don't like it, suggest to them that they have a reception for the two of you when you get back.

There is nothing wrong in going off and getting married by yourselves. Some couples do that when it's a second marriage.

I had not ever been married, but my husband had and we decided on a destination wedding. We had the formal wear and whole Christian ceremony... just without the condescending crowd. Do whatever you want... it's your wedding.
Here is the adorable (and inexpensive) chapel we wed at. GOOD LUCK and BEST WISHES!

There is no reason to have a big ceremony for a second marriage. Yes, going away is the best choice in this situation.

Do what you both want!! It's your wedding!! If you think friends and family will feel left out, have a reception later when you're comfortable. That would let everyone celebrate with you!

It is not wrong if you guys want to do it that way. If both parties agree on "running off" than that is exactly what you should do.
