just want to point out this verse as a sort of rememberance thing. cause im seeing a lot of hate on this board. ive had much directed towards me and seen even more directed towards others. remember what you believe...

Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.
so to make this valid the question is, do you remember and uphold this verse, or do you use it when it best benefits you?

Zip-A-Dee, people who dont agree with my opinions are fine. theres a fine line with disagreeing and calling names and being rude and disrespectful. i can handle people not agreeing with me ^^

You're right, we should not ever spread hate or hate---I don't know why many do, but perhaps they get offended and want to defend the Lord, which is good, but there is a proper way to do this....

I've always understood hate to mean that a person has such a strong dislike for something that they would destroy it or if it's towards a human being murder them.
I don't feel anything like that towards anybody however, I do have dislikes about certain things and voice my opinion.
I think people need to distinguish between hate and dislike one will cause harm and the other is an opposing opinion/feeling about certain subjects.
Also, people shouldn't be so quick to say someone hates them because of opposing views, we're allowed to disagree.

I think there's every truth in this statement. However we have to acknowledge that the human nature is a faulty one. We also remember Christ's words when he said'The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak'.
Therefore it is important to be able to overcome the weakness and build on strength. And the first step is to admit that we are weak. Pretty much like AA.The first step to recovery is to admit one is an alcoholic.
So let's try not to be judgmental. I guess there a lot of people here, me including, who are too quick to judge. If we need to judge anyone, let's start with ourselves. In all probability and fairness, we would see ourselves in a very poor light, id we are honest with ourselves.

I don't pick and choose verses so that they 'benefit' me... I don't hate as hate is like a bitter poison that spills over into all parts of life... i don't have time for bitterness... but I do feel sorrow for those who do not have Christ

Who hates anyone? People are just giving their opinions. Just because they opose yours desn't mean they hate you or anyone else. Let God be the judge, thank you.
People will be people rather they are christian or not. There are small people in the world its best just to ignore them because they'll never learn.
