Yesterday my enlgish bulldog took a very bad tumble down the stairs, she is only 4 months old. Took her to the vet last night and she stayed the night there. She has a very bad fracture and I'm not sure what to do now because we dont have 2K-3K to fix it. Last but not least, there's nothing within 3 hours from where I live. What are my possible outcomes if I leave it in this splint. Only an oral surgen can fix her, not a typical ordinary vet.

For me to put her up for adoption would be crazy. Not only did I just spend 2K for her, she has become a part of our family. We all love her to death and could not part from her.

You could always look into Care Credit. Here is a link that you can go to and at least check into it. www,carecredit.com
There are also other options out there that are similar and will help pay the bills but I can't think of them right off the top of my head.

I to have a Bulldog that I love, and because I love her if she needed medical attention I could not afford then I would give her up if I knew she would get the help she needed that way. You will have to find the money to get her fixed if you want to keep her and really love her. I am sorry but any thing else is just cruel and selfish. I know I would gladly drive to another state if I needed to for any of my dogs, and I would find the money or some way to get her fixed. What you paid for her does not matter at this point. What does matter is getting the dog help, and anyone should agree with me. When you really love something you want what is best for it not what is best for you. I would try taking out a loan, borrowing the money, using credit cards, or a payment plan of some kind. I know some places have a service you can apply for and it is a credit service for vets. They loan you the money and you make payments. I would do whatever it takes to get the dog the help it needs, even if that is giving up your puppy. You really need to put the dog needs above your own at this point. I also suggest that you maybe should have gotten another breed of dog if you do not have the means to afford expensive vet care, because English Bulldogs can have quite a few medical problems. Just please do what ever required to get the dog the medical help it needs. Good Luck.

She needs the surgery. If theres nothing within 3 hours from where you live, look further. For the sake of your puppy you should be able to travel as far as you need. I'm sorry you don't have the money for her operation, but you should have thought of that before you got her. Maybe you could work out a payment plan with the surgeon.
If you are unable to do any of these things for your dog, then you should really find a new home for her. Its not fair to the dog if you leave her in the splint.

try getting on line to an english bulldog rescue and explain the situation to them. maybe they can help. where i work the vet breeds english bulldogs and we have quiet a few english bd patients. there are a few with english rescues and there might possibly be help with your situation. if that doesn't work, try to set up a payment plan with the vets. i know we seem like the hardest people in the world to work with in situations like this, but the clinic where i work has over $15,000 in bad debt. where either their dog died and they did not feel obiligated to pay their bills or what ever. you may have to pay 1/2 the bill and they might bill you for the rest, if they do this make every effort to pay, if it's only $5 a month to let them know you are trying. good luck

I hate to say it but for the dogs sake perhaps you should look into letting her up for adoption to someone who can afford the treatment.....that is not meant to be mean to you but it may be only the begining of a long list of issues that could be a result of this injury, I know that is not a great answer but you can't go into bankrupsy over it either...maybe the vet could help you find a place....good luck.....poor thing....

If she is a part of your family, then you'll find a way to get her the medical care that she needs. If you can't do that, then find someone who can. Keeping her because she cost you $2000 but neglecting her health is what is crazy. If you got her from a breeder, contact him/her for advice or help.

Try contacting your County's Animal Control department (All Counties have them...). Many have low/no-cost vet services to people that can't afford them.
