You would have to drink a lot of it. However green tea contains epigallocatechin gallate (EGCC) which can accelerate weight loss in people who diet and exercise.

By itself though, it is unlikely to do anything.

I drink green tea and have not noticed any significant weight loss. they say it's good for you and I like some of the brands, so I'll drink it.

It definitaly doesn't hurt. Its mostly the caffeine that will cause you to see an effect, which is basically just water weight. But it can help supress appetite, and it has many other health benefits along with it. I'd give it a try!
