I came to the United States as a refugee from Iraq in 1991 because my family and I were kicked out of Iraq for not supporting the tyrants regime, and it isn't safe yet but I have family over there, should I go visit? Tell me what you would do if you were in my position.

i would not go cuz first thing is its a mess, but if you really miss your family then risk your life for ur family its a win lose type of thing. But you dont lose you just die. I mean family is important but you only have 1 life.

i have a similar situation where my family left colombia 10 years ago because of security problems and we didnt go back until about a year ago even though its still not even close to safe. what was important to us was to see our family even if we had to go through some danger because we missed them and care for them so much. if you believe going to see ur family is worth the risk, than do it.

As someone that has been there if you go don't tell anyone that you live here if they already don't know. Family is very important. but don't but yourself in danger.

wait until things settle down in Iraq, even if it means waiting a little longer, you could be killed very easily now.
