why do we have a solar system

The only answer I've heard, (that makes any sense), is that God created it! Nothing else fits the bill... not even the "Big Bang" theory because in order to have a big bang, there would have had to been something out there to cause the bang, and even if "that" were true, where did those "somethings" come from - who created them?

The word "solar" is derived from the Latin word for sun, Sol, leading to the term solar system, or the system of the sun.

Not that I know much about cosmology but as I understand it is due to the fact that our star (the sun) didn't develop into a binary or ternary stellar system.
