yea, on my bday i get a bday card from my auto insurance people, and inside the card is a lotto ticket!! im like w t f.... i know im over age to gamble and stratch-off and all that. but hey, i won a whopping 2 DOLLARS!! yipee!!!!! (exaggerating)

anyways, i thought the bday card was enough with signatures from them, but they had to add a lotto ticket. last year, it was just a card.

I can tell you why. The big insurance companies are making it easy and cheap to get insurance online or over the phone, thus eliminating the need for local agents. The local guys are getting nervous and want to keep their customers. They're doing the scratch ticket thing so they'll stand out in your mind as - I don't know - generous, fun, good people who you want to continue a business relationship with.
