Hi, I live and work in New Jersey and I live as a tenant in an apartment complex. Am I eligible for the Property tax deduction/credit and/or the homestead rebate? How do I know if the property tax is being deducted from the rent? Also, do the entries UI/HC/WF and NJ DI in the box 14 of the W2 have to be entered anywhere while filing the NJ1040 OR 1040 For Federal?

You may be eligible for the NJ Property Homestead Rebate as a tenant if your dwelling is subject to local property taxes. Read on page 49 to see if you are eligible. You would need to file Form TR-1040 to apply. If you are not sure, you would need to contact your county tax assessor.

The NJ DI is for disability paid. If you itemize deductions on Schedule A, this amount can be added with state taxes paid.

Tenants don't get any deductions for real estate taxes. Some states offer a renter's credit that you might be eligible for.

your escrow company is in charge for all consequences and pastime although you may want to report a criticism with state branch of shopper protection to rigidity the challenge. An exception will be in the journey that they did not get the revised billing or you probably did no longer have adequate escrowed as they don't look obligated to loan to you although that is quite uncommon loans are not any more made and also you suspect as upon to fix the inability
