I don't think that you should tell him to give the things back because you gave them to him and even if you broke up with him some of the things might still be special to him(even if he doesn't admit it)and giving the things back won't change anything,besides the only thing you can do with it is give it to another guy.

well it depends. If it is something very expensive and if it had a meaning of a promise between you and him to always be together yes i guess you can. But if it is something you gave him as a gift for valentines or christmas or just because I think you also can but it doesn't even look right. If you gave him a gift if because you wanted to and because you were ok with with him. Now just don't give him anything and forget about him and move on and forget about the gifts you gave him. Sometimes it helps him to think about you and feel bad for breaking up with you. Next time if you go out with someone don't give him a lot of gift so incase you break up with him you will not feel back for wanting them back. Also you never know if you go back to him and that is going to look guetto if you ask for the things you gave him. If you just let him borrowered things but they are still yours and you never gave them to him yes, you should ask him for those things because you never gave them to him and they are yours. no i dont think i would ask for the things that i bought him i would have no use for them like a PCP or a watch a razor you should just let him keep it so he'll always remember you by them and hopefully hurt. Now if it is something that was very expensive and you paid alot of money for it or still are then i would ask nicely for it back!

But, why would you? Just to spite him.?
Those are materials. Relationship with emotions are more important. Materials can be replaced. Bruised ego or damaged relationship cannot be.
Just let it go. Unless of course you bought him a Maserati or something. Even then, I would not ask that back. As I said, you can ask that back.

Why you bought it for him and it was good when you were together but now that he does not want to be with you then you want it back, that is wrong. Just move on and learn a lesson.

Did you give him the gift with the thought of getting it back??? Also you can ask not tell if he says no then move on. & don't give a gift unless it's a gift not a loan.

NO. gifts are not returnable. that would be immature. If you bought the things for him then theyre his. He shouldn't have to give it back.

Only if you were selfish in the relationship, then he should expect things like that from you. Probably has them on hold wating for you to ask.

You can ask for them, but he/she is not legally obligated to return anything, due to the gift law.
In court it's considered a gift.
