It really depends how expired it is. Manufacturers give a few day buffer on expiration dates. If it is just a couple of days after the "best by" date, then it might just be not as tastey. If it was a few weeks after the expiration date, you might end up with a stoch ache. Worse case scenario, you could end up with food poisoning. I think it would have to be seriously old to actually cause serious damage.

I have never actually seen what spoiled yogert looks like, but it already smells bad so you really can't tell if it's spoiled. It could contain salmonela and that makes you really sick.
