He was against Christ.
edit:
Jesus was a meek man who came to give his life for the sin of mankind. He was the son of God and holy. The deeds of those who don't believe that he lived and died and arose, are evil and they reject the light which would reveal their sin to them and give them the opportunity to accept forgiveness for their sin and eternal salvation. Those who do truth come to the light.

As far as 'anti-christ' is concerned, you're actually thinking of "Johnny Rotten".
I DO think that Lennon was a music 'god', but I also think the same of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Frank Zappa & Frank Sinatra. (Sinatra to a lesser extent, as to my knowlege, he didn't write songs or music.) Also Joan Baez, Jonni Mitchel, Laura Nyro & Mamma Cass. And MANY more.
I DON'T think that Lennon was a "God", any more than you or I am. But no less, either.
As far as his beliefs, a careful reading of his writings suggest that he believed in equality & brotherhood. Nothing wrong with that; as Elvis Costello sang, "What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?"
modify): To say nothing of Paul Simon (The USA's John Lennon) (w/o the controversy), Bruce Springstein & Patti Smith. And many, many more. (Elvis? Like Sinatra, an excellent performer, but not a writer or composer.)

He wasn't against Christ lol. He was against people using religion to hurt others, he strived for peace and a world that wasn't help down by labels. A world without worries or restriction and where everyone would get along DESPITE religion or race or whatever. To call him an antichrist would be an insult, an antichrist is someone who does everything possible to cause anarchy and panic, and do everything opposite of christ's teachings, he was no where near someone like that.

John Lennon: pacifist, taught about peace and love, wrote great music.
Jesus: son of mythical mass murdering omnipotent/omniscient megalomaniacal extortionist.

Many of today's fringe "entertainers" claim to be the "Anti-Christ". Most don't even know what it means. I see that now Britney Spears is claiming to be the Anti-Christ. It would be laughable if it weren't so sad.

No. He wasn't an anti-christ. He was an anorexic, drug abusing, communist sympathizer who just happened to be one of the greatest songwriters of the rock era.

No. Lennon become an atheist who become also anti-authoritarian with communist leanings. He hated prepared faith, and that i do not blame him. He become murdered via a disappointed fan who felt he turned right into a promote-out because in his little ones Lennon had preached antagonistic to having funds and belongings, yet in a lengthy time period were given rich off his music and owned a large mansion.
