I think it depends on the individual child. My daughter is 3, and I would not consider taking her, because she would be all over the place, cry and wail over not getting to go where she wants and whatnot. Her little friend though, I would take. She is a quiet girl, she listens, and is satisfied with watching.
Assess the child, and yourself. Can you handle a rambunctious child at a circus? If you know you wont get stressed out and turn it into the day from hell, go for it!!
Have fun!!!

i took my son in 2004 or 2005, he was about 3, and he loved the circus, he just wouldn't sit on the ponies or the elephant.

I took my son when he was 4 and it was a little lengthy for him to sit through. I guess it depends on your child. I would say 5-6 would be better.

my daughter was three and loved every minute of it. we bought her souvenirs and she got to do all sorts of things. we have also taken her to disney on ice, i live in indiana and they have disney on ice any ways she loved that too. the experience is good for a toddler and it is better than the tv
