In my opinion, this would not be a good fight for Sanchez, he would win but the cost would be much higher than the reward. Sandy was actually a clever boxer with power in both hands and was not shy about giving an elbow, headbutt, thumb, low blow or anything else he could think of. He was just a hair taller than Sanchez and he could box or brawl.

Salvador had the better body attack which would make a huge difference in this fight. I think that Sandy's long arms might make Salvador take chances to get inside he normally wouldn't take and this would play right into Saddlers fight plan.

I think early on sandy would hurt Salvador with the long right hand but after the 5th round Salvador would figure out Saddlers style and start moving to Saddlers left and being slightly out of Saddlers reach and start unloading big left hooks to Sandy's thin frame.

There would be no knock downs in this fight just a complete and total war with Salvador winning by way of a 15 round split decision.

Thanks for the question BD/TG.

This is a great fight. Both men had power and both men had heart. Sanchez is the more active fighter and he goes in there to slug it out. Sanchez has the slight advantage in power and speed. Saddler had the advantage in stamina and chin. I think this fight would be over by the later rounds. Both men are resilient and would not be knocked out quickly.
I see Sanchez engaging Saddler in a slugfest. Saddler becomes the defensive fighter in this fight. I think Saddler will floor Sanchez at some point. Maybe by a counter. By the championship rounds, I think Saddler will be leading before Sanchez stops him with flurries of punches. I think it would end in the fourteenth.

This is a great match up and would be a very close fight. Sanchez has a little more power but Saddler had some pop also. Saddler had a great chin so the power advantage is negated. I know alot of people on this forum have Sanchez as one of their favorite boxers. Well I hate to say it but he would lose this fight. I know Sanchez beat Nelson, Gomez, LaPorte, Lopez, and Castillo a who's who in victories but Saddler beat Pep 3 out of 4 times and I think he would beat Sanchez by close decision. Don't kill the messenger.

it is a confusing wrestle for me because, a lot as i like Sanchez--he's one among my all-time favorites-- i do not see him beating Saddler. Sandy Saddler is the answer guy. He has solutions for all kinds. most of the followers of Willie Pep nonetheless refuse to furnish Saddler a lot credit, usually downplaying his dominance of their sequence of fights. To Pep's credit, he became fairly previous his perfect even as they fought, having survived a plane crash. nonetheless, Saddler had the genuine, ability and difficult type to difficulty any featherweight. besides the undeniable fact that it truly is a confusing wrestle for both. the project is that Sanchez could be ill-prepared for Saddler's bag of tricks and the tips he commits fouls without the referee catching him. Sanchez could win the early rounds utilizing his % and volume punching. in the course of the middle rounds, Saddler could degree a comeback. contained in the later rounds, Sanchez could command a small lead yet could resign that lead down the stretch as he's hindered by technique of Saddler's approaches. i imagine Sanchez could be stuck by technique of wonder by technique of Saddler's type. besides the undeniable fact that, in the journey that they were to wrestle a rematch, i imagine Sanchez could study and adapt, beating Saddler in a 2d and third wrestle.

Salvador, too composed, too smart, too good a counter puncher, possibly a better fighter in the pocket. Sanchez by slim split decision. Both fighters take a lot of punishment in this fight, neither fighter gives in.
