also can you tell me if i can file for all 3 or just 2006

Not only can you file, you MUST file. US citizens and permanent residents are taxed on their world-wide income from all sources, regardless of where the income is earned or where they live.

By failing to file timely returns for years prior to 2006, you have lost the opportunity for significant tax saving. You must file a timely return to qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion although you may still be able to take the credit for foreign income taxed paid.

Go to the IRS website and download a copy of IRS Pub 54 for complete information for US Citizens and residents living outside the US. Don't delay on putting things right. The long arm of the IRS can reach you pretty much anywhere on the planet -- and the UK does have tax treaties with the US that ensure that both countries get their due from you.
