This started a few months ago, I used to eat like a cow but now I'm never hungry. I try forcing myself to eat but I get too full and feel like throwing up, sometimes even when I try drinking some juice or a bottle of water in the mornings it happens.

What could be causing this?
I'm 5'9, 14, female and 93 pounds.
I'm not anorexic, never have been, I just come from a thin family and watch what I eat.

Any answer is appreciated! Thanks

I'm not depressed, I have talked to my doctor about this and he said it was just something to do with growth. It makes no sence, and that's why I'm asking here. =)

I don't play any sports right now, it's winter, but I work out 3 times a week at a gym and 20 mins a day at home.

I'm a picky eater, but I hardly eat the same foods over and over again, I have been trying new things lately so I don't think it's that.

I don't take any medications.

I've never stopped myself from eating before, the only time it was this bad was when I had the flu for a week.

It's not like I'm not getting ANY food, because I do eat some vegetables and Slim Fast. (The only things I really can eat)

I'm trying to get my weight back up, but I want to do it slowly. I don't want to put on more weight then I should have. =)

I've been a skinny person my whole life, and yeah I have alot of energy, I could run around all day if I wanted too. The doctor took a blood test and everything, he said it was nothing.

The slim fast isn't mine, it's my moms. I took some because it's supposed to replace meals, and when I just don't feel like eating I'll take some of that instead, I also take vitamins everyday so atleast I'm not getting anything in me at all.

Also, no matter how full I am I always make sure to eat at least one thing a day, usually a granola bar or an apple.

I'm not worried about my weight, I just don't get hungry, and I don't want to pig out on junk food because if I'm going to gain weight I want to do it in a healthy way, not just by eating cookies. =)

Are you depressed? Depression can cause a loss of appetite.

How about activity level? Are you active physically? Do you do sports or exercise? It could be that you're dormant and your body just doesn't require much because you spend little energy.

Edit: I saw your additional information. My take is that some people are just skinny. And you're still young too so your metabolism is probably very high.

My daughter is only 4 3/4 now but when she was 2-3 they listed her as 50% in height meaning she was exactly average. On weight she was less than 5% meaning 95% of kids her age were heavier. They ran all kinds of tests and frankly scared us thinking that something was wrong. It turns out that basically she's just a skinny kid, nothing wrong with her. She has normal energy levels and is otherwise healthy.

I'd ask yourself do you have enough energy? Do you feel healthy (regardless of how you look)? Are your body functions normal (blood pressure, pulse, etc.)? If you can find nothing else wrong with you except for your weight I'd say you're just fine. As soon as other parts of your health start to suffer, then you have a problem.

You are just scared of gaining weight. You see the people that underweight, and than you see people that are overweight. You don't like the overweight crowd. Maybe, at your school, you see an overweight person, and don't want to go down that road.

So, you think that in your mind that you don't want to eat too much. Why are you slim fast? That doesn't make sense. You are underweight anyway. Seriously, eat some cookies or something. There is nothing wrong with eating snack foods. The problem is when you are eating 10 200 calorie cookies a day. Don't think that you will be overweight someday, and you will be just fine.

Even if you do become overweight, it's always reversible. You are in charge of your body. You can lose weight, and you gain weight. So, don't worry about it. Since your family is all thin, you are scared of food because you don't want to be overweight, or something like that. Don't do that to yourself.

even from a thin family your very under-weight. If you stop eating, sometimes your body will train itself to need less food. This does not mean your anorexic, but its not really healthy, either. This happened to me a few years ago, and its not to fun. But eating anyway is probably the right track. It tells your body just to keep on eating.

Well, you might be getting anorexic for psychological reasons unknown to you. Try talking to a psychologist about it... You may be perhaps depressed or under a lot of stress, and so be somatizing all that into those symptoms related to being hungry. I really don´t know, but I somehow helped you. Regards, Gabriel.

o my gosh!!!! thats tiny! when you do force yourself to eat make sure its not a lot.. try the smallest amounts of food first for a while and then move up to bigger porportions.. soon enough your body should be used to eating regularly.

Well, are you taking any new medications within the past few month's? Because some medications can suppress your appetite.
