Also, how old was your child when you started them? I am just trying to figure out the norm. My daughter is 22 months old and I am finally going to start training her. I really hope I didn't wait too long!
Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks!

my son was completely trained in two weeks and it was right before his third b-day. boys are alittle slower then girls in that dept. though. My pediatrician told me to get a sticker chart to put on the fridge. Explain to your daughter what it is. Take her to a toy store and let her pick out some kind of small toy that she wants. Tell her that you will buy that for her if she has a week will all stickers. At dinner time you and her get the stickers and let HER put a sticker on the chart just for wearing big girl panties. Two stickers if at all during the day she pee's in the potty and three stickers for poo poo. Make a huge deal out her using the bathroom. Clapping, telling she is a big girl and giving praise to her will help her see the importance in using the potty. Now what was the hardest thing for me was putting my son in underwear and having accidents all day long until he realized he did not want to be wet again. My pediatrician was sooo right when he told me to do this. It worked like a charm. The diapers and pull ups do not give them the extreme wet uncomfortable sensation of wet underwear. There are plastic underwear covers you can buy at Target that is what I used so we didn't have to go through so many clothes and could leave the house. I wish you the best of luck and I will tell you my son was completely trained in 2 weeks

My oldest was trained by the time she was 25 months...I just took the diaper off and never put one back on her....we made sure we encouraged her to use the bathroom around every 20 minutes or so and then woke her once during the night to go as well.

My second daughter decided she wanted to be a big girl when she was 23 months old....she just one day told me she wanted to wear "big girl panties" and we have never looked back.

My youngest daughter is 31 months old and is still not potty trained as she is showing absolutely no signs of being ready and I am not going to push her until she is.

Around 18 months is a good time. You're not too late. Our 4 all were at different ages. It all depends on the child. Our youngest is 3 1/2, and was PT at just over 3. Just sit them on the potty, and let them get used to it. Keep them on long enough, and they will go eventually.

My oldest was potty trained before she turned two, but the rest didn't get it together till they were near 3. Children's bowels are usually regular. If you sit her on the potty 30 minutes after she eats, and first thing in the morning that would be a good start. My youngest is still learning and I just have to watch him to figure out when he has to go.
Every child is different and if she's still wetting herself at night then you may need to cut her drinking before bedtime.

I started potty training my daughter at 24 mos. and we had several setbacks during that time. She is now 3 and fully potty trained. I started putting her in pull ups then slowly into panties. We went to the store and she picked out the ones she liked. She eventually decided on her own not to wear the pullups anymore. Just have patience, give alot of praise, you can try bribery (I used pretty stickers every time she went) and it will happen. Good Luck!

My daughter was also 22 months old when I started potty training her. She was completely off the pampers about a week after her birthday.

we started when she showed signs of readiness at about 26 months and she was fully trained in about 3 weeks with only 2 or 3 accidents since then and she's 3 1/2 now and has been accident free for over 9 months
only had one nighttime accident the second night of training

My daughter was 3 and a half when she got fully potty trained. We started a month before she turned 3. Wow, long time. For Taylor, the only thing that worked was putting in her "onedies" as she calls them. Pull-ups are to muich like diapers, even the cold feeling pull-ups, she would look at me and say, "Mommy, my pees cold". Good Luck!

I have twin boys and to be honest I had to have my mother help me train them! They are 3 now and 1 still wears pullups at night, but is trained to go in the day. His brother is a pro, no bet wetting or anything. They were day-trained by the time they were 2 yrs 9 months... I'm still working on Hunter, but Jason was night/day trained by the time he was exactly 3. They are now 3 yrs. 2 months.
