Please respond with maturity and be considerate of others. This is for a women's studies class project and I don't have time to listen to all the little immature people on here making dumb comments, so please keep it professional.

Why do black men prefer to date women outside of their race?

Because black women usually tend to act ignorant and never appreciate the stuff black men do for them. Black women love to jump to conclusions and say ignorant remarks about people that they do not know. They love to cause unnecessary drama and blow things way out of proportion. I was hanging out with a black woman a few years ago (i only knew her for about 2 weeks), and she had the nerve to throw a cordless phone in my face and order me to fold her laundry. "EXCUSE ME MISS!!!!" I do not need to say anymore. I have personally dated outside of my race. I find that girls outside of my race (esp white girls), tend to be more supportive, listen more, does not stereotype other people, a lot more fun to hang out with, actually likes you for who you are and not what you can provide for them and most importantly they actually trust you. I will not date a black woman again.

i took a class that asked this same question...what i put down was that based on historical context dating back to the days of slavery, black men have been belittled by black women for not standing up and defending themselves against the white slavemasters. apparently, through generations of watching black men become beaten into servitude, black women realized that they had to inherit traits normally exhibited by the men.

Fast forward a few hundred years and here we are where black women have become much stronger and dominant in society, basically to the level of men. Perhaps black men find this intimidating in that they can never have the upper hand in a "traditional" relationship where men's word is final. Perhaps they choose owomen of outside races because they believe they are more subserviant? I dont know, but i hope everythin i said is some help

Well, not all black men prefer to date women outside of their race. There are some black men who do, but there are a lot more black men who prefer to date women within their race, and still there are others who simply could careless about what race the women they date are. So, I would say that the general question of 'why do black men prefer to date women outside their race' is irrellevant, because it's not true about all black men.

Black men date women of other races and ethnic groups because it makes THEM feel important, and the reason is for that is a low self image. S
Some will do anything to set themselves apart from their peers without regard for the other person in a relationship.

I know that im not a black male but i am a black female and it is because blck men after a while get tired of the same old loud mouth black woman that dont have her priorities straight or cant control her mouth. A stupid reason is so there kids can have good hair which is one of the main reasons.

you are not going to get a very accurate study from yahoo answers. i recommend actually talking to people you find on the street, at a library, etc. There are so many anonymous people on here that some black men may be misrepresented leading to poor answers. I know you said not to answer if im not a black male but i think i can help you. My Dad is black and he says he loves dating white women because he finds them kind of exotic. Just like some white women find black me exotic.
