Today I gave my best friend a note that told him that I liked him.
This is what it said:
Dear______,
If you really want to know who is like, figure out this code: 19-5-1-14.
Hint: The third letter is "A" and you knew this person before you were even born. You know this person better than anybody in the world.
My Name
P.S. After you read this note, don't ever bring it up again.
Did I do the right thing? What if he doesn't want to be my friend anymore? Should I have wrote something different? He once told me he liked me, but that was back in June. I said, "Who do you like?" And he said, "Well I like ________ ________." And then he said, "And since I ever met you, I've always kind of liked you." Did I do the right thing by giving him that note?

Yes, it was the right thing to do...don't worry too much, just give him some space and see what happens. The only problem with your note was that you said he shouldn't bring it up again (you should have said we will discuss this later), so you have to. So, go talk to him again at some good time when you guys are alone and he can give you his full attention. From what you wrote, I can tell you it's going to work out just fine!!!

In my opinion you are only 13 and have plenty of time to date, why be in a rush to do something and you are in school, if you want to have a relationship you have to balance it and your school work or you will have more problems on your hands then you want and you know whoever this guy is he must be pretty special for you to find out if he will still be your friend and even possibly date you. The thing is though that the note you wrote was not a very good note, it would have been better for you to tell him in person and let him all this, that way you can get a better reaction out of him. If he is really serious about dating you which he might not since you and him are in middle school then he will come up to you and ask you if you want to go out with him, what are you going to do if he says that he only wants to be friends and focus on his studies and worry about dating later. You have to accept that he is not ready to date and focus on your studies, dating is not everything at this point and should not be the score of your universe. What he decides to do with the note and what you wrote in it will be completely up to him, just don't be surprised if he says no.

If lame codes are the right thing, then yes.
Did you have a part at the bottom where he circles yes or no?
If he was asking who you like then he obviously was testing the waters to see if he had a chance. Now he knows he does. You two can walk down the middle school halls while holding hands, go to the homecoming dance, get knocked up by the age of 15, married and divorced by the time you're 20, and live happily ever after.
Ahh, young love is so cute.

After you read this note, don't ever bring it up again? So, if he likes you back....you don't want him to tell you? The letter sounds childish. Nothing beats a good face to face. Also, if you gave him the note, doesn't he know it was you???
Just flipping talk to the boy. Don't play this game, have some self-respect.

Sorry to tell you this, but the friend turning into a boyfriend thing never really works out. And you want to have a guy that goes after you. If a guy falls all over himself and says stupid things to you, he likes you. This guy will be loyal to you. If you go after a guy, he may or may not be into you. But a guy that follows you around all the time is invaluable.

I don't think the note makes any sense. He will probably stay up half the night trying to figure out what it means.

No. My own opinion is you did the WAY WRONG thing. If you want someone to know you like them, then just open up you mouth and say something. I'm sure they would appreciate the honesty on your part.

If you're a child, yes, I guess you did the right thing.
If you're an adult, that's a bit absurd.
And he knew you before he was born? Umm, are you his twin? That's a bit creepy.
