I hear milk inside.Will it dry up,rot etc.?

Until it is opened, it is preserved. The milk may dry up. It should not rot. Coconuts wash from island to island and when buried in the sand grow new coconut trees. So it may grow eventually. Coconut meat can be frozen.

as long as you don't bust the coconut over somebody's head, the milk should stay fresh for a long time...eventually it will dry out, so drill a couple of small holes and let the milk out now.

put it in the fridge, no coconut milk stays in coconut until cracked
