i am planning to buy vista ultimate soon, can some one please compare vista ultimate to xp pro? why is vista so much better, and please give me examples... don't just say "its security is better" tell me how its security is better. tx, this is kinda serious.. i mean i dont want to go pay 300 dollars to go get some operating system that just looks "cool"... hell, i can get a transformation pack for that, i hope that there are more reasons that vista is good. tx!

i dont know that it is. they are having problems with it being compatable with alot of stuff.

Simple one word answer---DON'T. At least, not for the first year. It'll take them that long to BEGIN to work the bugs out of it. And, all the reasons you give for upgrading don't exist, anyway. XP will do you fine for several years yet. Don't just buy it to say you've got the latest.
Vista AIN'T better; it's just different. And, from what little I've seen, it's "improvements" are cosmetic, at best. Plus, you have to seriously upgrade your computer, if not buy a whole new one. So, $300 is just the START of the added cost. Count on a full grand if you want to upgrade.

i dont think vista is better than xp pro. iv never tried vista so i dont know 4 sure but i asked the same question! most people said vista isnt as good as xp pro.

You are planning to pay 300 bucks for it, but don't already have a compelling reason to do so?
It sounds like you need to save your money and stick with XP for the time being. It won't be able to do anything that 90% of people need to be able to do, and only a few things that the other 10% do.

It isn't much better, I would hold off on buying it until something says it will only work in Vista and not XP and you want to use it.

vista isnt much better...so I have heard. It's has more security but that's about it. It's not worth upgrading to it..in my opinion keep xp.
