You have to remove most of the dead skin first... use a somewhat coarse face scrub or if you don't have that, a nubby washcloth with moisturizing cleanser. Rub in circles around face, rinse well and immediately slather face with a creamy face lotion like Ponds or Nivea. Let soak in and wipe off extra. Do this a few times and it should look better in the next day or two!

Take some tea bags and make a batch of boiled tea just like mom used to. Place tea in the refridgerator to cool. Once it has cooled dip a rag in and dab on burned area. The titanic acid in the tea will turn the burn to tan. It was used in burn wards for years, and there is a reason

GENTLY exfoliate with a scrubber while showering.
apply aloe vera to skin a few times a day.
NOT LOTIONS OR POTIONS.
aloe is a natural substance and it's the only thing that won't irritate skin further.
as for make-up. skip foundation, concelaer, powder, etc on face. In other words, don't put anything on your SKIN except aloe vera gel.

Use Clinique's dramatically different(?) moisturizer. It will get rid of the peeling, redness and the burn. It is light yellow cuz I'm not positive on the name. I hope this helps!

use some conditioner meant for extremely dryed out hair. Rub a good amount on and let it sit for a while during a shower or bath or whatever. Be sure to eventually rinse it off. And the aloe vera works wonders too!

aloe is great for sun burn it will releive the sting. I know that if you break open a vitamin E an put it on the problem areas too. you may also want to try a very very mild moisturizing lotion (which may sting a little) But other than that theres not much you can do but let it heal on its own. Goodluck

You don't want to add insult(makeup) to injury(the sunburn). Several times a day apply a really good moisturizer (I use Oil of Olay - it's GREAT). Also, be very gentle when washing your face, but make sure to do so to remove the dead skin (do not pick at any loose skin!). It should only take a day or so with a good moisturizer before your face begins to naturally repair itself. Good luck and God Bless.
