I use Malibu 2000 products and baking soda to help romove build up, I'm looking for a natural way to do this and save money on all the products. I have blonde hair and I do color and highlight it so whatever is done can't damage my haircolor.

I can't remember the name of the product, but if you go to a beauty supply house, tell the ladies what you are needing and they will help you. My mother is a beautician, I will find out what it's called and get back to you, if someone else hasn't thought of the name of it. It's strips all the build up and sprays and makes it look good.

I know how you feel, i lived in CT for a while and it build up like a thick wall of crap in my hair, and went to hair place, they couldn't believe how much stuff i had in my hair. every now and then i use a serrated comb and really work it from the root to the ends to remove the impurities, have a warm water in cup to remove the impurities from the comb each time it comes off the roots. Trim hair helps a little bit, and I use blonde and a lot of sunshine that helps dry up the hair naturally without building up impurities.
here are some links you could check out to see if it will help remove the impurities. Also why not try see if you can buy those "soft" adapter that they sell in walmart or some bath/shower stores i believe they sell something that suppose to help the water to become a bit more softer in showers/sinks. Hope this is helpful.

Have you tried regular clarifying shampoos? There is the same shampoo safe for color treated hair. I have hard water too..but it helps mine.
