I used the uninstaller from their website at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157

You should then be able to install Adobe Flash Player 9

OK, it might had helped me in helping you if you'd mentioned WHAT BROWSER U USE!!! Whatever installing Adobe Flash Player 9 (In Mozilla) means basically downloading the installer and running it, no browser integrated installers, just downloaded files, however if you meant Java, that one requires live installation and you have to allow java.com to install programs within your browser environment. Anyway you could check your add/remove app to see if u do not already have Adobe Flash Player 9 installed... Good luck

Well,I've downloaded the Adobe Macromedia FlashPlayer9 yesterday and I've faced the same very problem.Anyways, even if a prompt doesn't come up,take care that you click at the 'download' link in website correctly.I'd shed my hopes but then I found that to be on my system after some time.It gets implicitly installed and does not notify you.Or if you are very doubtful, just check www.download.com .You can verify from 'Control Panel',there will the Adobe Flashplayer 9 ActiveX found automatically after some time..
