I know that it means Bring your own beer/booze/bottle/etc. but I was wondering a few things. First of all, how much do you bring? Secondly, how do you keep track of it, do you just sit in a certain part of the room guarding and downing your drinks? Lastly, if I don't bring anything to a BYOB, is it still possible to drink a considerable amount?

Depends upon the host... most byob parties work by throwing it all into a cooler, sort of like a pot luck.
If you don't bring anything, then I guess you're just a cheap person.
Also, it a party where you socialize and have fun. Why would you worry about guarding your stash? Why would you even care? Just lighten up and share.

You bring the amount of booze you are going to drink plus some mix. Most times everyone respects the others bottle and will grab their own so, taking the bottle with you is just odd (if not greedy). If you didn't bring anything and just grab anything you want, I'd be afraid of offending someone or a fight may ensue. Nobody drinks my booze without asking first, it's the polite thing to do.
When the night is ending or you've already downed yours, find a bottle and ask the person if you could have some. Oh and if by chance you still have some in your bottle, leave it there. You'd be surprised how many people take their booze back and what others say about them afterwards (Cheap SOB comes to mind).

Calm Down, Bring Two Six Packs Of Whatever You Like. Put It Into A Cooler. Label It, And Have Fun. It's A Party, You're Not Supposed To Worry This Much.

bring enough for you and to supply a few friends with shots. whenever i go to a byob party me and my friends each buy a bottle of liquer to make shots with. and then bring whatever we are drinking. we then make the shots for everyone to share which is fun cause most of the time someone will offer some of their booze to make a different shot. if you dont bring anything to a byob party you are cheap. even a 6 pack will be good especially if it goes into a community area where you can help your self to others alcohol. just dont get caught.

If easily everyone who comes is 21 and over, to my understand-how, you is only no longer to blame in the journey that they make certain to drink and stress after leaving the party. regardless of the truth that you're the host, they are adults and also you probably did not purchase them beer underage because you're making it BYOB and 21+. the in reality reason you are able to be to blame is in case you purchase alcohol for someone underage and they get stuck or worse in an coincidence. Having stated all that, i'm no longer a legal professional (yet) and do advise you get yet another professional opinion. do no longer be scared to ask a police officer. they are there that can help you you.

Bring enough for you plus a few. If you like mixed drinks bring the makings for it. A good rule of thumb is is you don't have enough to share then you don't have enough.
Its rude to drink but not donate. If nothing else at least offer some cash to the host.

Bring as much as you anticipate drinking. Don't hover over it. You can't have fun at the party that way. And, you will look a bit foolish. If you want to bring nothing and drink a considerable amount you probably won't be invited to future parties.
Drink responsibly.

BYOB means you bring any amount of alcohol that you plan on drinking. The host will not be giving out alcohol. You set the bottle on your table and that's what you drink.Good idea for a host, if you get drunk, they aren't responsible...You can't get drunk if you do not bring something to drink...
