Remind yourself why you went to Brazil in the first place. You must have gone for a reason which you have considered extremely important. If you still have homesickness, call your family often, and maybe even talk it out with the family who you are staying with. They could have some pretty good suggestions.
Most importantly, Brazil is a beautiful country. Don't sit around all day moping about how much you miss your family, go out and have fun =)

Hey, you should be having such a good time that your family will only enter your thoughts in a good way - such as "will tell my mum/dad about this" "must get a photo to show them at home" etc.
With email and messenger you can "chat" online and keep in contact if you can work out the time zones, and just keep enjoying your experiences and not thinking about how sad you are to be away from home. You've been there for 16 years, one month is a fabulous experience, and only a tiny part of your life.
MAKE THE MOST OF IT AND HAVE SOME FUN!!

Keep as busy as possible. If you are able to do so, try to call home once a week to stay in touch; use the internet to stay in touch. And keep telling yourself that you'll be home in no time. The time will pass quickly. And enjoy - it's a beautiful country!
