Most rental agencies will not rent to people under 25, however, it very much depends on what state and/or region you are trying to rent in. The legal age for renting cars differs from state to state. Try using Alamo or Budget; I have rented vehicles through them at the age of 21.

I think it depends on the state, because I rented cars in Indianapolis dozens of times before I was 25, but in California I got STUCK! I had to call a cab and borrow a friends car during my stay, which meant driving them to and from work every day on my vacation....but I was lucky I had friends.
I would call the local rental office (where you are going to rent the car) and verify the age.

The rental companies will (mostly) rent to anyone with a driver's licence, credit card, and the ability and willingness to pay. HOWEVER, they will probly charge you a billion trillion kazillion bucks per micro-second for car insurance (well, more like about $50/day for the insurance alone; PLUS the cost of renting the car; so, you are basically looking at about 100 bucks per day or more).

Yes, this is true.
Did you know that the frontal lobe of your brain is not fully developed until we are 25? I find it amazing that we can operate heavy machinery at 16 (a car), expected to be wise enough to choose the leader of the free world at 18 (the president).
All before our brain is fully developed! I think the auto rental companies are the only ones that have it right!

Its 21 in california. there are a range of prices linked with that and regulations on the kinds of autos they can lease. maximum house vehicle businesses wont lease to all individuals lower than 21 in California because of the regulation. i understand house vehicle businesses in lengthy island will lease particular autos to those who're 18-20, yet there are a ton of prices. perfect age is 25.

Go to Enterprise... You have to be 21, but they do charge you an underage fee, but if you really need a car you will pay it. I have been going there to rent cars since for the past two years.
