Cleanse the area well then apply savlon overnight. To aid covering it up use a green concealer (Boots No. 17 is good and cheap) which takes out the red and then cover over with your usual foundation, concealer.
Oh and don't keep touching it, tempting but prolonging!
Hope this helps,

I have the same problem all the time. With me witch Hazel doesn't really work. Try Clearasil (should get rid of spot in 3 days). One BIG thing to avoid doing is touching or even bursting open the spot: it will take longer to heal & will most defiently leave a mark! Go to a Beauty Counter & ask what they would recommend to cover the spot, it has been said that green counteracts any redness. I use Clearsil then a few minutes later I add a good concealer that covers the spot, which should last until I get home

To reduce the redness you could cover it with a green tint. Have done this and it works. I mixed some green eye shadow in with some base and it took the redness off. Not a cure but a temporary solution when going out. I read this in a magazine somewhere from a make up artist.

The best thing for spota is to get a paracetamol or an asprin, crush it in to dust, add a bit of water to make it in to a paste and out it on the area.(ok so its not soooo glamorous but it works better than anything) In the morning the spot will have dried out and got smaller and the redness will have gone. The spot will be easy to conceal if you want to or you can go makeup free which will gt rid of it totally, quicker.

toothpaste is ok because it bleaches it and reduces the swelling. The best thing is, and this is not easy is stop looking at it. Leave it alone, you see it as about 17 times the size it is. honestly, it is now way as awful as you think. also, just laugh and smile loads cos that makes people look at your eyes not your nose

hiya,
i definately reccomend any witch, its a brand name and it works, but its not expensive!! so everybody wins!!
i had a break out when i was moving schools about 7 years ago, and again when it came to inals in colage, i swear by it, and it smells lovely.
it reduses redness and takes the sting out of it,
or even if you have any savlon lying around the house, wash your face with water and pure moistureising soap, dry and just dab it on, but dont completely rub it in. x x

I heard rubbing visine on a spot will help dull redness just like eyes.

lavender oil or tea tree oil should do the trick. A little dab of the neat oil.
