I have highlighted hair similar in shade to Jennifer Aniston's, but I really want to change! I would like a very dark brunette color like Rachel Wiesz. Any advice? I also live in a warm and ssunny climate and like to go to the beach a couple times a week.

When coloring over light hair you need to remember that going more than 3 levels darker is going to be a shock at first. It will lighten a little in a week or so after the color is done though. But if you spend time at the beach, I would be a little leary on the idea of going to do dark. The sun of course is going to lighten it because of the UV rays but the salt in the water can/will strip out your color. Best advice is to consult with your stylist.

First of all, make sure your hair is clean and has had all residue from your last coloring session washed out. Then go and either have your hair done professionally or do it yourself. Take into account that you'll want to have the salon leave some of your hair light and the rest have done brunette. This way you shall have that gently looking sun-kissed/sun-highlighted hair-do!!

Lowlights, or all over dye. It can be expensive, but it works. I highlight my hair all the time in the summer. When it gets very brassy colored, I go to my hairstylist and she puts a dark brown lowlight in it to get rid of the color. it really works

go to a hair stylist. if you use box color you risk going too dark or getting a nasty undertone. the stylist will probably pre-pigment your hair to put the warmth back into it, and then use a demi on top. go back slowly and ask for recommendations. i use goldwell at my salon and i do like how tint backs look with it. good luck.

Jet black hair. I have truly dark brown hair and I believe dark hair looks better. I avoid really like blonde hair.
