Use Neutrogena T-Gel shampoo & conditioner. I used to have the same problem & would use both of these & they really helped ! ( &, by using the conditioner your hair will not be too dry). You can get them at any CVS or Walgreens

Have you tried treating your hair with Antibacterial Body Wash? Buy the Equate brand and shower using it and on your head for a shampoo.
I would not use it as a shampoo frequently - but maybe once a week. Be sure to work your scalp over really good, leaving no missed areas follow up with hair conditioner. There could be some parasites on your scalp that this may kill them without seeing a doctor. .
If this does not help. Then go see a doctor.
In the meantime here are some suggestions to get you through the week should people notice...
* I just flew in from the Arctic. and MAN! Is it so cold.., the snow in my hair hasn't melted and I've been home for a week,
* Not to worry. Thats my trained Lice. You see, I work in a circus as a Lice trainer. You should see my Head in Lice's Mouth trick! Its to die for.
* (should anyone be rude enough to point out you have dandruff - just say) ..."No. You're wrong. Its Martian Brain Chiggers and when they are done consuming my brain.., they are moving on to yours! Oh look! One is on you now! RUNNN!"
Keeping a sense of humor will get you through almost anything. Except security clearance at the airport.

When you have dandruff, your scalp doesn't itch and if it does, its most likely because you have dry scalp. Dandruff is usually greasy, which would explain why your hair is oily. I suggest trying to use Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner (found at any beauty supply store or most salons). It will help with the dandruff, the oily hair, but the conditioner will help with the dry scalp. Washing every day is not necessary either, in the long run it will do more damage than anything. Plus the Tea Tree is good for your skin, acne, and if you have colds because it is made from tea tree oils and menthol.

Instead of washing every 3 days, alternate between Head & Shoulders and a balancing shampoo (Joico Daily Treatment Shampoo).
You can also try a shampoo w/ tea tree oil (Paul Mitchell).
My last suggestion is to stick w/ Head & Shoulders every day - concentrating on the roots and just letting a little lather run through the rest of your hair as you shampoo it. After drying/styling your hair massage just a tiny drop of jojoba oil into your scalp. Jojoba oil is a good leave in conditioner, is non-comedogenic, and washes out easily so you won't have build up.
If you feel the ends of your hair need more conditioning, just apply rinse out conditioner to the roots or spray on conditioner to the ends after shampooing.

If you have long term dandruff, you should talk to a dermatologist. It may be a fungal infection, and a medicated shampoo may be needed to clear it up.

My husband uses Nizoral. It's the only thing that works for him, though it's not cheap.
