Sweetie, enjoy the experience, test drive loads and see which is the one for you. You have plenty of time to shop around until June so just take your time and have fun choosing!
When you have narrowed it down to a few models check out a few car forums on the net and see what people have written about the car to help make the final decision.

Hi
I do not want to be presumptious and say you female but i am going to because of oyur avatar! I will give you my advice on the cars you have listed. I am a secondhand car dealer, and an honest one if they exist, and will not try to sell you a car!
The latest Clio aims to be the new class benchmark for cabin space, refinement and safety. An enormous cabin, excellent noise suppression and a five-star Euro NCAP crash test rating would appear to indicate Renault is on target. However, it has resulted in a car that is no longer as compact as it once was. At nearly four metres long the Clio is a giant in its sector. It comes with some innovative features first seen on the Renault Modus, including hands-free unlocking and ignition key card, as well as tyre pressure monitoring and cornering headlights. Cabin quality is much improved and its stylish new look adds further appeal.
Few cars are as well suited to urban life as the MINI. Its retro looks have proved to be more than just a passing fashion fad, it's compact, easy - as well as exciting - to drive and affordable to run. And that's why you'll see one on nearly every street in the country. Such is MINI's appeal that even early - and tatty - examples fetch surprisingly high prices, although those with choice options fetch the best prices.
You'll either love it hate it, but in the right circles Beetle still has a certain cache. It's based upon the previous-generation Golf and drives just the same. If you don't like the looks, then buy a Golf instead, because the shape compromises the interior space and boot access and it's more expensive. In case you were unsure, it is now a front engined, front-wheel driver with nothing other than its imitation looks to link it to the original Beetle.
My choice woud be Mini, Renault then VW.
You could also try a VW Golf, New Ford Focus, or something Japanese such as Mazda 3.
I currently drive everyday to work a Golf GTI and its as every bit as good as they were in the 80's!
Good luck.

There is so much to choose from! However, I would steer clear of french cars, particularly renaults. Colleagues who've had them as company cars from new have had nothing but reoccuring electrical problems with them.
Minis and Beetles are both great - however, both are horrendously over priced new so consider getting second hand, even up to 3 years old with a hefty mileage will be fine as long as there is a full service history.
The key is to take them for test drives. Try and get at least 24 hours and try them on regular routes you travel and practical exercises like shopping etc.
My personal preference would be neither as they are as common as muck - what about an alfa GT or even a Citroen C4 Coupe (proven reliable)

I have to say the Mini Cooper. What a great fun car to drive. Really quick and a guaranteed head-turner.
Ignore the comment about safety. They are as strong and tough as anything else on the road today. The old model got 4 stars on the Euro NCAP test and I guess the new one did the same if not better

I wouldn't get a Renault, not good reliability record. The Mini is overpriced and not at all practical, with a tiny boot. The Beetle is not that good at handling, and looks a bit naff now.
I would recommend a Suzuki Swift. For £9000, you get a five door GLX 1.5, it looks good and is loaded with kit (aircon, 6 airbags, abs, CD). It is also fairly rapid, with 100 bhp (although you have to rev it).
I've had one for six months and covered 8000 miles, with no problems.

Go to your local library and have a look at costs, reliability and safety in 'Which' magazine. Also buy a 'What car'. These two will cover all the practicalities. You might also end up wanting something else! Otherwise you will be making your second biggest purchase virtually blind.

The Beetle is a fashion statement, and things go out of fashion. Test drive a new Suzuki Swift.

I recommend the Mini. Of all the cars we've owned between us in our household, the Mini has held its price the best. I've been lucky enough to have 2 new mini coopers - wonderful to drive, solid build, nippy and economical and they really hold their price. Go for it - I dont think you'd regret it.

Eventually it will be up to YOU.. however, I will say that the Beetle and the Coopers are kind of small and make me worry safety-wise.
God forbid.. but you don't want to be rear ended by a truck in one of those!
Good Luck!
